01 · The founder story

An engineer who chose the hard road

Jay Li, founder and CEO of Logistar
Jay LiFounder & CEO, Logistar
  1. Chapter 1 · The Navy

He once sat where you sit

He was an electrical engineering student too. He graduated with honors from the University at Buffalo and joined a US Navy engineering safety-systems team. In 2018 the Navy gave him the Admiral Harold R. Stark Award for Innovation. Plenty of engineers would have stayed.

  2. Chapter 2 · Two people

He chose to carry the boxes

He left the Navy and started in a 500 sq ft basement with a team of two. He negotiated the leases, drew the pick paths and bought the equipment himself. In his words: "I'm an execution founder, the one who moves the most."

  3. Chapter 3 · 400,000 sq ft

Box by box, a national network

Today: 400,000 sq ft of warehouses, 1M+ parcels a month, official partner of Amazon, TikTok Shop, Temu and SHEIN. He still walks 30,000 steps a day on the floor, loading containers. "Every warehouse, every route, every shipment, I ran it myself."

  4. Chapter 4 · The Silicon Valley stage

    Silicon Valley noticed

In October 2025 he and Andy took "AI to change global logistics" to the Silicon Valley Bank pitch competition, and placed 3rd.

  5. Chapter 5 · Still being written

Next: AI on the warehouse floor

Between the Navy and 400,000 sq ft are the calls he got right and the ones he got wrong. Next he is taking AI onto the warehouse floor and into returns repair: every heavy parcel from the closest warehouse, every return fixed and sold again.

"I don't talk about trends. I get things done. The people who really deliver have mud on their boots and calluses on their hands."

02 · Why the heavy lifter

Not just shipping your goods. We scale your business by cutting costs, growing revenue and running leaner.

01

Brands don't lose on product. They lose on execution. Good products reach the US and get stuck in the warehouse, the delivery or the after-sale.

02

Warehouse sites are picked on foot. Drayage costs, carrier-station density, highway access, the local workforce, fire-code compliance: he checked each one in person. The wrong warehouse can double the delivery bill.

03

Systems are built by moving boxes, not bought as templates. Direct ocean-carrier contracts, an in-house customs company with every entry traceable, self-run warehouses, and systems connected to the major marketplaces.

04

Closing the after-sale loop isn't a "service". It's the operator's job. High-value returns get tested, refurbished and reported back. "I'm an electronics engineer. Repair is a brand's moat."

03 · Next step

From engineer to entrepreneur,
one box at a time.
